Black Friday sales season is well and truly upon us and the fever is spreading like wildfire. Millions are already trawling all four corners of the web to find out what they can bag and where to bag it from when the Black Friday sales kick off, in something of an annual precursor to the ensuing madness. However, at least one major retailer is offering a slightly different and decided more high-tech approach for its expected hoards this year, which gives a unique opportunity for the savvy spender to hone right in on the best Black Friday bargains.
Wal-Mart made public its plans for the Black Friday sales this week, which are set to kick off on Thanksgiving Day itself at 8pm. The flagship deal this year is that of an iPad 2 with 16GB storage and Wi-Fi only for $399 – not exactly a blistering bargain alone, but it comes with a $75 gift card to be spent on anything at Wal-Mart.
In a merciful move, Wal-Mart has even promised that any buyers in line between 10pm and 11pm on the night will be 100% guaranteed the deal on the iPad, even if they run out of stocks beforehand. Buyers will be able to pay, take home the gift card and have the iPad 2 delivered in time for Christmas.
However, perhaps most excitingly of all for those looking to really get their elbows in is the Wal-Mart app, which is able to offer a distinctly competitive advantage to those using it on Black Friday. Wal-Mart has revealed that for the first time, Black Friday shoppers will be able to use an interactive map of the store they are in to find where they are, where the bargains are and how much they are on sale for.
Something of a personal shopper for the Black Friday sales in your pocket.
