Forget about the price-tags? Nonsense…
It’s all about bang for buck in the Smartphone world today – exactly why the Samsung Galaxy S4 could be the beast to bury the iPhone 5 once and for all.
With each passing day, we’re being bombarded with more reasons to think twice before handing over top-dollar for an iPhone 5, which by rights is loaded with rather past-generation specs and features. The bewilderingly OTT launch event for the Samsung Galaxy S4 reminded us what exactly innovation is all about and added further fuel to the fire burning under Apple’s critics.
And as far as the fabled iPhone 5S goes that may or may not ever come around, we’ve been told to expect an iPhone with even less groundbreaking features than those of the iPhone 5 in order to facilitate a slightly more affordable price tag.
Well, all such efforts may just be in vain as according to the usual beady-eyed observers, the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 has just had its price leaked online and the news for Apple isn’t good. If on the money…so to speak…the unlocked Galaxy S4 could hit the market for no more than $579, which although not exactly a bargain by rights is still something of a steal when considering its specs and features.
…and is also a steal when compared to the price of the unlocked iPhone 5, which sells for $649 for the base-model and doesn’t pack anything close to the specs and features of the Galaxy S4.
All of the above represents a bit of a pickle for Apple, as in order to in any way win over the markets and the world’s critics once again, the next iPhone needs to be either the powerhouse of all time or the bargain to end all bargains. Sadly, if iPhone 5S rumors prove true, it won’t be either.
Instead, it’s looking like a case of a watered-down iPhone with 2012 specs and features for a mid-range price-tag that could by rights stretch to something entirely more top-tier in the Android camp.
It should prove an interesting summer on the iOS front, if nothing else.
