Ahead of confirmation of an eventual US release date, the unlocked BlackBerry Z10 has at last started to fall in price for those unwilling to wait it out for its official launch. Hot on the heels of a series of bizarre reports from the UK citing price increases, the contract-free BlackBerry Z10 looks destined to further its early spread across the US with a modestly lower price-tag.
As of this week, SIM-free BlackBerry Z10 is up for grabs for a price between $750 and $800 at third-party retailers across the US, marking a decrease from the previous $850+ the Z10 was selling for no so long ago.
Cast your mind back just a few short weeks and you might remember a few plucky hopefuls trying to flog their own Z10 collections at $1,000 and – let’s hope they’ve ended up making a loss and learned a lesson or two about greed!
Digressing from that rather sour point, there have also been plenty of sightings of the unlocked BlackBerry Z10 on eBay for closer to the $700, suggesting that the device might become even cheaper prior to its official launch which has to date not been announced by BlackBerry…the company formerly known as RIM.
The general consensus appears to be pointing to an eventual launch date for the BlackBerry Z10 next month, which in the eyes of the more optimistic masses could at the same time herald the arrival of the full QWERTY keyboard-toting BlackBerry Q10.
Having already got off to an impressive start across the UK and Canada, BlackBerry may at long last be finding its fortunes turning and cautiously marching to a brighter future. However, we’re still to hear any concrete details as to hard sales figures, but the BlackBerry Z10’s specs and features are certainly proving a hit with the consumer masses so far.
