Rumor has it we’ll soon be learning of the next Google Nexus Tablet release date…
There was never any question as to whether a device as successful as the Google Nexus 7 would breed a successor – or indeed that said successor in the form of the Google Nexus 10 would do the same. And as it happens we were right, as a series of reports are now suggesting that Google has set the wheels in motion to release a new version of the Google Nexus 10 later this year.
Right now, Google Nexus 10 stock-shortages are plaguing much of the world, as thousands of consumers continue to chase down what is frankly one of the tablet PC bargains of the decade so far. Even in the face of competition from the iPad 4, the iPad Mini and the incredibly popular Amazon Kindle Fire, the Google Nexus 10 remains more often than not completely sold out on the Google Play Store.
The question is therefore – what can we expect from the next Google Nexus Tablet? A minor upgrade, or a full-on evolution of the brand?
Well, according to those who at least claim to be in the know, the successor to the Google Nexus 10 will feature a colossally faster processor – some have already singled out an octa-core chip as the most likely suspect. We’re also hearing chatter that the size and weight of the next Nexus Tablet could be reduced, while improved screen technology could see battery life boosted considerably.
Add into the mix the idea of further storage options up to 64GB and you have to wonder – how on Earth can Google go about this and still hang onto the price-tags that helped make the Nexus 10 such a hit in the first place?
No small ask, but then again we would have once claimed adamantly that a device like the Google Nexus 7 would never hit the market for less than $350 – and look how wrong we’d have been on that one!
