When it comes to Samsung Galaxy S4 specs, features and release date rumors, it seems that pretty much everyone has their own unique ideas about what we can expect and when. The most conflicting reports are as usual those pertaining to all important release dates, as we’ve been comprehensively assured that the S4 will be landing pretty much every month this year from February to November.
However, add a little logic into the equation and it is in fact possible to filter out much of the wild guesswork as pure fiction and begin to pinpoint an entirely more plausible launch window.
Right off the bat, a fall launch can be ruled out as being painfully too far away and having no bearing on Samsung’s usual product refresh schedule.
Just a few weeks ago, some had suggested with confidence that the Galaxy S4 would be unveiled at CES 2013, which would frankly have been a ridiculously early update of the Galaxy S Smartphone ad of course didn’t happen.
Most rumors as of late seem to have been pointing to the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which although one of the biggest and most popular events for device launches frankly isn’t the kind of event Samsung will be using for the S4.
No – the Galaxy S4 is too big and too important NOT to have its own dedicated event, therefore 2013 MWC can be ruled out.
Given the fact that we’ve already come to expect massive product launches from the likes of Motorola in May and Apple in June therefore, chances are the stirrings of a Galaxy S4 release date sometime in April will prove most accurate. This gives Samsung time to organize and implement a March unveiling of the S4 at its own dedicated event, followed by a massive global launch a few weeks later.
With regard to price-tags, rumor has it that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will launch with an off-contract price of around $600 to $700, pretty much following suit with prior annual updates.
