Critics have in general taken no prisoners when it comes to flaming both the Windows Surface RT Tablet and the as-yet unreleased Surface Pro Tablet, but Microsoft and the rest of the world’s tech community know that the real power lies in the hands of the consumer. And in this instance Microsoft may be entitled to the last laugh, as it seems that the Surface RT Tablet which for many had been written off as a bit of a joke concept has in fact struck quite the chord with the customer.
Of course, Best Buy may not be the benchmark by which all consumer products are rated and evaluated, but customers of the retail giant haven’t held back in applauding the Surface RT for its various positive facets.
Some have indicated that they’ve every intention of “retiring” their existing tabs once Microsoft releases sufficient apps, others have supported the Surface RT’s build quality and some have called it categorically the best tablet PC ever created by far.
Of course, those hell-bent on defaming the name of the Surface Tablet and indeed Microsoft as a whole have wasted no time in suggesting that the comments could easily have originated from professional markets rather than genuine customers, but exactly when could this not be the case? In all fairness, there’s little excuse for not giving Microsoft the benefit of the doubt on this one…for now at least.
Overall points-ratings for both Surface RT Tablets from Best Buy have been consistently high, though has so far generated a rather modest 17 reviews in total. This would therefore suggest that despite striking a chord with those that have bought the tab, the Surface RT isn’t exactly shifting in enormous numbers.
Next month’s Surface Pro release date is expected to further the debate as to Microsoft’s viability in the tablet PC market as a whole – a tablet expected to deliver sub-PC specs and features for a massively above-tablet PC price tag.
