Subaru sales reached all-time record-highs for the month of March, having jumped an impressive 13% compared to the same month last year to hit a total of 36,710 vehicle sales.
As of the end of Q3 2013, total Subaru sales for the year stood at 92,527, representing a huge spike of 15% compared to the same quarter in 2012. If things carry on at current pace, Subaru looking to be well on track to break its all-time annual sales record and once again pass the momentous 300,000 vehicle sales mark hit for the first time last year.
CEO of Subaru in the US Thomas Doll has credited the ongoing success of the brand the latest range’s delivery of the total package of performance and eco-awareness – a package that according to Subaru is expected to see sales continue skyrocketing over the course of the year.
As far as specifics go, the Subaru Forester performed best of all with sales of 9,050 – an incredible year on year increase of 46.2%. The Impreza-based XV Crosstrek also enjoyed a hugely successful month garnering sales of 4,688 units last month, though it seemed to some extent at the expense of the Impreza itself which was down 37.7% compared to last year, selling 5,327 vehicles.
Meanwhile, Subaru lifted the lid on an all-new hybrid vehicle at the New York Auto Show last week, which has been built around the same formula as the Crosstrek and therefore could by rights chip away at Impreza sales even further.
