The new Sony Xperia Z smartphone was released to a waiting public last month with lots of fanfare. It’s fair to say that Sony’s latest offering to this crowded market place has a number of features and an inherent beauty that in many ways makes it stand out from the competition.
Sony has a wealth of experience in the technology markets, particularly in the realm of cameras and televisions so it was to be expected that these would be the areas in which the Xperia Z smartphone was likely to excel.
Running on Android’s 4.1 Jelly Bean platform and boasting and one point five gig Qualcomm Quad Core processor, the Xperia Z is fast, easy to use and downloading apps and running them is child’s play. One of the key features of the smartphone that do put it firmly in the running is the fact that it is water resistant; this feature also makes it dust resistant too. Let’s face it, how many of us have damaged/destroyed our cell phones due to getting them wet?
Coming back to Sony’s areas of expertise then. In terms of the camera, the Xperia Z has a thirteen megapixel camera that comes complete with a flash and autofocus. There is also the ubiquitous front facing camera too. The camera enables the user to take gorgeous shots and video regardless of the lighting. For those amongst us who are lucky enough to have a Sony Bravia television at home, the NFC technology means that displaying your pictures and videos on the home big screen couldn’t be simpler. It’s just a case of touching your phone to your remote control.
On top of all this, the phone itself is pretty stunning to look at too. Sony has taken the time to ensure that every millimeter of the handset looks the part. It’s smooth and handsome and let’s face it, we want one.
