Samsung recently hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons, having been forced to hand over $1 billion to Apple in the ongoing iPhone 5 Vs Galaxy Vs Galaxy Tab Vs iPad battle that most of us are pretty tired of. Sadly, rumor has it that the stage may be well and truly set for another courtroom battle of epic (if slightly boring) proportions, when the Samsung Galaxy S4 Vs iPhone 6 bout gets underway late last year.
Rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date having been penciled in for Q1 next year have been circulating for quite some time now – as have various wish-lists of specs and features. It has also been repeatedly suggested that the Galaxy S4 will represent a radical redesign that will in no way resemble any of its Galaxy S predecessors, nor any Samsung Smartphone released to date.
This would of course make sense, given the way in which Samsung has been given quite the slap on the wrist for taking one too many leafs out of the book of Apple.
According to a report published by CultOfMac however, Samsung has bold plans for 2013 which include an entire rebranding of the company to make it more Apple-like as a whole. Not exactly the bold and sweeping steps to uniqueness we’d been expecting, but perhaps a savvy step toward greater competition with its biggest rival.
Whether or not the company’s apparent ambition to be more like Apple will be reflected in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 remains to be seen, but some have already stated with confidence that the S4 will be more like the iPhone than any so far. If true, chances are the courtrooms will already be bracing themselves for the two to slug it out once again, while the rest of the consumer world can’t help but wonder what all the fuss is really about.
