With just two days to go until its expected release date announcement, the Samsung Galaxy has apparently made an appearance online by way of a series of leaked photos. What’s more, the forum responsible for the sneak-peek pics also gave a rundown of the specs and features to expect from the S4 – most of which tally nicely with what we’ve come to expect this Thursday.
We can see from the pictures the screen of the Samsung Galaxy S4 measures in a little larger than that of the S3, perhaps knocking on the door of the 4.99-inches rumored for quite some time. The Chinese forum behind the leaks states that the screen is a full 1080p display, the CPU is a Universal5410 clocked at 1.8GHz, RAM weighs in at 2GB and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean is driving the proceedings.
And for those scratching their heads at a certain one of the above rumored specs, the good folks over at The Verge are pretty confident that said Universal 5410 is in fact most likely Samsung’s Exynos 5410 processor – aka the octa-core chip so many have already been losing sleep over.
While there’s currently no means by which to back or refute the latest round of Galaxy S4 images, they do look decidedly similar to another bunch that crept out of the woodwork in January. The only difference then was that the pictures shown by SamMobile showed a Galaxy S4 that didn’t feature a home button…or any physical buttons on the front.
The news joins previous reports from earlier in the week suggesting that the Galaxy S4 will also serve up a new feature which will allow users to control various facets of the device without actually touching it. Known as a “floating touchscreen” the technology works by performing various functions when a finger is held close to the touchscreen but doesn’t actually make contact.
We’ll have all the details we need including specs, features and release date confirmation in just 48-hours.
