The Samsung Galaxy S4 release date is still a while away and yet it’s looking more and more likely that it will be joined fairly quickly by the Galaxy S4 Mini. Having been rumored for a spring launch for quite some time, the Galaxy S4’s mini-me has now apparently appeared on Samsung’s official website…albeit for a rather brief time.
As far as specs and features are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is strongly rumored to carry a very similar makeup to the legendary Galaxy S2. If accurate, chances are we’ll be looking at a 2.3-inch touchscreen, 1GB of RAM and a dual-core process – the CPU however could be upped to a quad-core chip.
All of the above including the very existence of the S4 Mini had been pure speculation, until a swathe of beady-eyed followers managed to get a glimpse of an official teaser for the unannounced Smartphone, which was then taken down as quickly as it appeared.
Release date wise, the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini landed a fair while after the full-fat S3, so if the S4 Mini follows in the same footsteps we could be looking at a launch closer to July. However, seerate reports have stated with confidence that the S4 Mini has been earmarked for a June release when it will hit European markets first with an unexpectedly low price-tag.
It’s worth remembering that this will technically be exactly the same time that millions have come to expect the launch of the ‘affordable’ iPhone 5S – the device which for all intents and purposes will be the iPhone Mini. As with the S4 Mini, the iPhone 5S is rumored to have been based on a previous-generation version of the iPhone, sharing many of the iPhone 4’s specs and features.
If true, bargain-hunters may well be spoilt for choice this summer having been presented with what could be the cheapest unlocked iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S Smartphones ever to launch.
