The Samsung Galaxy S4 rumor-mill has hit the highest of high-gears this week and talk of an early release date has Android devotees bordering on hysteria. Even more excitingly still, new reports have come to light that for the first time pinpoint a perhaps official launch date for the Galaxy S4 – all eyes are now squarely focused on March 15th.
According to the good people over at SamMobile, Samsung has penciled in a major launch event for Friday March 15th, which would herald the official arrival of the Galaxy S4 and be followed by a commercial release date in the weeks to follow. Samsung has of course reveled nothing on the subject and refuses to discuss anything relating to the S4, but the latest reports are said to come from a source with genuine knowledge of the company’s product roadmap for 2013.
If true, this would mean that Samsung is as expected opting to overlook the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and instead dedicate a massively high-profile event to the Galaxy S4 and only the Galaxy S4 slightly afterwards.
MWC attendees will instead most likely be graced with a formal introduction to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and/or the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0.
Depending on where in the world you’re planning to do your shopping, there’s a good chance that you’ll have to wait a tad longer than mid-March to actually pick up the octa-core processor-packing Galaxy S4. The same report goes on to suggest that customers in Europe will be graced with the first S4 release date in the early days of April, which will be followed in May by Asia and then…unfortunately for most of us…hitting America closer to June.
That being said, the specs and features the S4 will undoubtedly pack will justify the wait in a big way – think the abovementioned quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, a 4.99-inch Full HD AMOLED display, 13-megapixel camera and Android Jelly Bean version 4.2.1.
Why not 4.2.2.? Your guess is as good as ours!
