Samsung Galaxy S4 release date rumors have been gathering some serious momentum over recent weeks and have today been topped off nicely with a classic smoking-gun. According to a swathe of beady-eyed Android devotees that refuse to let so much as a nugget of knowledge slip by, a new accessory has made its way to the FCC which is destined to be used with the Samsung Galaxy S4, suggesting that its long-waited release date really might be coming sooner than expected.
The accessory in question is a wireless battery charging pad for the S4, which therefore backs up additional spec and feature rumors suggesting that the next-generation Galaxy Smartphone will feature similar wireless charging technology to the Nokia Lumia 920. The appearance of the FCC listing pretty much confirms that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is indeed a reality and is on its way, but with regard to actual release dates it could be argued that optimism is getting in the way of reality.
Going by Samsung’s previous Galaxy S product launches alone, we’d be looking at the first official outing of the S4 coming during the summer months at the earliest. In addition, considering the fact that the Galaxy S4 will in all likelihood be going against the iPhone 5S and/or iPhone 6 for the title of Smartphone of the year, chances are all three will hit the market at a similar time which is certainly not around the rumored March-April window.
Some have argued that massive product launches from the likes of BlackBerry, HTC and LG could have forced Samsung to rethink and throw out the Galaxy S4 earlier than intended to take an early lead, but realistically it would make more sense to allow the dust to settle and then well and truly steal the show.
As such, expect an official introduction to the Samsung Galaxy S4, a full rundown of its specs, features and its ultimate release date at a dedicated event no earlier than March, ahead of a Q3 summertime launch.
