This week’s Nokia rumor mill has been set alight be talk of a pretty imminent launch of the so-called Nokia Catwalk, which despite having one of the most cringe-worthy names in the history of history looks set to be one of the most stunning Smartphones of the year.
I mean seriously – you have to hope it won’t actually launch as the Nokia Catwalk or chances are it won’t be winning much favor with those of a slightly less pretentious nature.
But back to the point of the piece – word on the street is that Nokia will be giving the Catwalks – aka the Nokia Lumia 928 – its first official outing on May 15th, to be followed by a release date in the weeks to follow. Those behind the rumors also said that the Catwalk with be strutting its stuff for the first time at an event in London, though without any concrete evidence it all remains a case of unverified hearsay.
But then again, that’s what life’s all about in the mobile tech gossip realms.
This is far from the first time the Nokia Lumia 928 has crept up in conversation as over the past couple of months we’ve been able to draw together a pretty conclusive list of likely specs and feature. Expected to launch exclusively on Verizon – at least at first – the Nokia Catwalk is said to pack a largely similar internal composition to the Lumia 920, albeit with a thinner frame, improved camera, stunning aluminum casing in various colors and a series of addition hardware tweaks.
So technically what we’re looking at is a new Nokia Lumia Windows Phone flagship, but when that gentle slips the crown from the hands of the Lumia 920 rather than walloping it clean off its head. In any case it all sounds hugely promising, so we’ll just have to wait until May 15th to see if any of the release date or spec rumors hold water.
We of course hope they do…apart from that hideous catwalk name.
