As far as release date rumors go, the Motorola Nexus X or Motorola X Phone is one that simply will not give up and play dead. The funny thing is, despite all the wish-lists in the world drumming up comprehensive illustrations of the specs and features we’ve come to expect, there are still thousands who think that the Motorola X Phone doesn’t exist, it never has and frankly never will.
Could it be that it is in fact the world’s media and rumor mills that have collaboratively created a fictitious beast that’ll never see the light of day?
Maybe, but I for one am 100% convinced that the Motorola X Phone will launch this year and in all probability will carry the Nexus branding – perhaps even Android Key Lime Pie exclusivity to boot. And if it does, there’s every chance that we could be in for the 16-megapixel camera and 5-inch 1080p screen we’ve already heard so much about.
In the meantime however, a sighting of a new Motorola Smartphone that immediate piqued the imaginations of all of us has been categorically proven as anything but the fabled Nexus X. This should be blindingly obvious by the fact that the mysterious Motorola device that popped up sports a 4-inch screen with a comparatively paltry 720p resolution and a dual-core processor.
What we’re no doubt looking at instead therefore is another of Motorola’s quite admirable answers to the ongoing troubles faced by consumers not on the market for pocket-busting Smartphones of epic size, though still able to deliver the goods under the hood. Frankly, it’s getting more and more difficult to find a top-tier Smartphone with more power than God that fits into anything close to a sensible pocket – exactly the reason why I swear by my Motorola RAZR I.
If the above holds true however, we’re looking at an even smaller powerhouse from Motorola and I for one salute their efforts…I’m not part of the bigger-is-better market segment.
