Adding on to the endless barrage of unsubstantiated rumors surrounding the likes of the iPhone 6 and the iWatch, word on the street is that Apple is about to launch a refresh of its Mac Pro range. According to sources quoted by Mac Daily News, the exact specifics of the Mac Pro update are something of a mystery, but we could see the revamp take place as early as this month.
Apple’s desktop PC range has taken something of a back seat over recent years as the iPad, iPhone and MacBook ranges have all grown significantly in popularity, though in a market where conventional computer use seems to be dying by the day, Apple’s Mac Pro range is still performing reasonably well.
Meanwhile, rumors from a rather different side of the mill are once again pointing to the very real possibility of an iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 launch before we see the next-generation iPhone – most likely the iPhone 5S. Various industry sources have come forward to suggest that for reasons deliberate or otherwise, the iPhone 5S release date has been pushed back to the fall and by rights will NOT arrive at the same time as the two new 2013 iPads.
If accurate, this would leave to something of an inevitable early release of the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 as Apple will of course have no intention of leaving any of the three off the market in the run-up to Christmas.
Where exactly this leaves the iPod Touch range for this year remains to be seen, but frankly the line between the iPod Touch and the iPhone is becoming so narrow and blurred that it wouldn’t be surprising to see the former eventually fall off the map altogether.
