The LG Optimus G will shortly be giving up its crown as a new flagship rolls onto the block – the frankly stunning LG Optimus G Pro. Despite the G having only been on the market since late last year, LG seems to be taking no prisoners when it comes to hurling out the flagships and holding onto its place as a Smartphone market leader.
As such, you’ll be able to pick up the LG Optimus G Pro on both the Sprint and AT&T networks as of tomorrow, May 3rd.
It wasn’t long ago that the phablet hybrid market pretty much began and ended with the Samsung Galaxy Note. Even by the time the Galaxy Note 2 came along last year, there really weren’t many viable rivals out there to give it a run for its money. However, the exceptional success of both Notes has certainly not escaped the watchful eye of Samsung’s rival companies – as time goes by we’re hearing of more and more supersized-Smartphones making their way to the party.
As far as the LG Optimus G Pro goes, this is a 5.5-inch Smartphone with a full 1080p HD screen, which packs the most advanced Snapdragon 600 Quad-Core CPU on the market and a full 2GB serving of RAM. There’s also 32GB of expandable onboard storage space, a 13-megapixel shooter to the rear and Android Jelly Bean at the helm.
Those looking for a Note alternative will be able to pick up the G Pro for $199 along with the usual two-year service agreement, which considering the raw power on offer is anything but an unfair price.
We’ll have to wait and see how the new G Pro fairs against the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 when it lands later this fall, though chances are there will be yet another flagship on the side of LG by then to give Samsung a run for its money.
