The LG Nexus 4 launch last year brought the world one of its biggest Smartphone surprises in recent history – one that caught both the public and its manufacturers off guard. The Nexus 4 delivered a dizzying array of specs and features which somehow managed to astound consumers and critics alike while keeping price to rock-bottom lows. In fact, the only thing that caused any concern about the thing was if it arrived comprised mostly of the kind of plastics LG is famous for…plastics that don’t exactly inspire.
It didn’t – it was premium inside and out and is still winning over millions today as the bargain to end all bargains.
As such, it doesn’t come as a huge surprise to once again be hearing that LG has apparently won the deal to build the nexus Google Nexus Smartphone – the LG Nexus 5, as it were.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of LG being behind the Nexus 5, but as time goes by we’re seeing more and more leaked images and supposed rundowns of the specs and features to expect. In the latest instance, we’re seeing what is apparently a leaked images of the LG Nexus 5 – carrying the codename of Megalodon – along with a wish-list of specs and features the kind of which would make Samsung blush
The image paints a pretty enough picture, but under the hood we’re told lies a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU which just so happens to be backed by an earth-shattering 3GB of dedicated RAM. It’s also looking like the Nexus will boast a 5.2-inch 1080p HD touchscreen and 64GB or expandable storage.
And as if any cherry on the cake was really needed, don’t forget this is also the device that’s expected to debut Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie to the world this summer.
Put the pieces together and you have yourself an at-present mythical Smartphone which for the right price could make the rest of 2013’s combatants look quite frankly pathetic.
