Add together all the rumors as to iPhone 6 specs and features on the web right now and next year you’d have a Smartphone that could practically tidy your house, drive you to work and then pretty much do your job for you. The plucky souls in the rumor mill always go to town with a new iPhone but the iPhone 6 has taken things to extremes like never before – we’re starting to wonder if there’s anything it can’t do.
Back on planet Earth however, it’s actually pretty easy to scour through the projections and wild guesses on offer to decipher a few truths…or at least details of a feasible nature. Chances are it won’t change your life, but optimistically speaking the iPhone 6 might at least inject a little excitement back into the brand that’s right now becoming rather dull and dated.
You can bank your last buck on an iPhone 6 that takes screen size closer to the 5-inch mark than ever before. Assuming the iPhone 5S keeps things at 4-inches, the launch of a near 5-inch iPhone 6 will see the range stretch to three different sizes and price ranges, which by rights is what most have been begging Apple to roll out for years.
As far as 6-inch Padphone screens go however, not a chance in hell. Not now, probably not ever.
Maybe a little, but if you’re thinking of something that’s as bendy and rounded as it gets, not for a while yet. Corning admitted that Willow Glass is still years from readiness and Apple only recently advertised a job posting for someone to head up development of flexible screen technology. As such, the iPhone 6 might be the first to boast a modest though graceful curve, though truly bendy and flexible it won’t be.
Very possible, which ties in with the rumor of the iPhone 6 launching without a physical home button. It would be a big change to the norm but frankly that’s exactly what’s needed.
To be honest it would be pretty bizarre for Apple not to start thinking about nee colors with the iPhone 5S launch – it’s not a black and white market anymore.
And if Apple doesn’t catch up with its rival by fitting the iPhone 5S with NFC, chances are the iPhone 6 will be a dead cert for the technology – perhaps along with Apple’s rumored Mobile Wallet App.
