A new set of concept images have given the world a glance at what the iPhone 6 could look like if it is indeed launched as a 5-inch screen-toting Tabphone – a theoretical device already dubbed the iPhablet by many. And while the very notion of Apple breaking from tradition so radically may seem absurd, there’s no escaping the fact that the Cupertino company must pull out all the stops with the iPhone 6 in order to prevent being completely left behind by Android rivals like Samsung.
And of course, we were also once told than the idea of an iPad Mini was frankly ridiculous and would never, ever become a reality…by a certain Mr. Jobs.
This summer is widely expected to bring the iPhone 5 release date to the world – aka the iPhone Mini – which for all intents and purposes will represent little significant in terms f changes other than those relating to its price. The world has apparently been crying out for an affordable iPhone for quite some time and thus an iPhone 5S launch for the right price could well and truly resonate with the world’s markets – while at the same time biding plenty of time for Apple to ready a revolutionary iPhone 6.
If true, realistically we’re not looking at an iPhone 6 release date until next summer at the earliest, but you could easily argue that to keep us waiting at least another cannot fail to drum up the kind of hype and hysteria that’s guaranteed to work in Apple’s favor.
Plus, should the majority of rumors pan out then we’ll at least have the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 to keep us busy over the holiday buying season this winter, meaning that the iOS device void won’t be quite so unbearable for the world’s tens of millions of addicts.
