Trying to quell the iPhone 5S rumor-mill for even a day is something of a futile effort to say the very least, with so many apparent leaks, industry insights and elaborate guesses circulating to keep the stories coming thick and fast. Today is certainly no exception, as a French technology website has apparently spotted a series of technical images of what is said to be the iPhone 5S in all its elusive glory.
Fresh evidence that Apple may indeed be lining up an iPhone 5S release date for the early stages of next year.
Among the images is a photograph that depicts the rear outer-casing of an iPhone which for all intents and purposes is identical to the current iPhone 5. The only tell-tale sign that something is slightly different is the way in which certain details on the casing are not present and read only as “X” which according to those in the known confirms a prototype model.
A second image displays the alleged iPhone 5S with the cover removed, where there are a few very discreet differences noticeable for those who know the iPhone 5 inside out. For example, some of the screw fixing appear to have moved slightly, which can be seen by the two images posted alongside each other.
Apple has of course been unwilling to pass comment or answer any questions on the iPhone 5S release date, or the existence of the rumored device.
While the frenzied masses are already pinning their hopes on another enormously important product launch from Apple in the near future, chances are the iPhone 5S – should it exist – will be more of a very minor upgrade of the iPhone 5.
On the other hand, it is entirely possible that ongoing assembly issues resulting from complexity have forced a series of minor tweaks to the existing iPhone 5, which would see a slightly modified iPhone 5 slipping through the net without anyone having noticed.
