Prepare for another heated argument as to who got their first – rumor has it that both the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 5S will feature wireless charging as key selling-points. Having already been brought to the table by a handful of other manufacturers, the news represents another possible instance of the iPhone in particular playing catch-up with an increasingly fast-developing Smartphone industry.
According to new reports published by DigiTimes, wireless charging will represent either a built-in or optional feature for both the iPhone 5S and the Samsung Galaxy S4. Or in other words, it could be a case of buying the necessary accessories to make use of the technology.
As far as the general Galaxy S4 Vs iPhone 5S battle goes, Samsung clearly has the upper-hand as we’re expecting the full unveiling and release date announcement for the S4 in just four days time – March 14th is the big day. Should ongoing chatter hold water, we can expect the world’s first Smartphone to pack an octa-core Exynos 5 processor, 2GB of RAM, up to 128GB or storage and more bells and whistles than you can shake a stick at.
The iPhone 5S on the other hand is a rather more debated device and has rather a lot of critics worries as to what it may or may not deliver. Despite an explosion in competition from all corners, some have predicted that the iPhone 5S will for all intents and purposes be identical to the current iPhone 5, albeit with a faster processor and better camera.
If so, the iPhone will have categorically fallen behind the top-tier Android market and the results for Apple could be disastrous.
On the other hand, they could unleash the fabled iPhone 6 iPhablet on the world with its 5-inch screen and all manner of new toys – I for one have my fingers crossed for the latter scenario.
