HTC M7 specs, features and ultimate release date musings have been the talk of the Android town for some time now, though one detail that seems to have escaped the equation is the forthcoming price of the thing.
Well, this particular grey are appears to have now been cleared up in a big way and for those hoping to bag a bargain HTC M7, the news isn’t exactly joyful.
Yes, the price of the HTC M7 has been leaked by a French website and measures in at a rather painful €649.99, which given current exchange rates would mean in the region of $870 off-contract. Not that it was ever going to be a cheap handset, but such a weighty chunk of change puts it right up there with the most expensive on the market as a whole.
Needless to say therefore, the M7 has a hell of a lot to prove when its release date rolls around in a matter of weeks.
These kind of leaks are of course nothing new, but given the way in which the listing immediately disappeared once it had been picked up, there’s a good chance it was the real deal.
With regard to specs and features, the HTC M7 certainly seems to have what it takes on paper to stand shoulder to shoulder with the best of the 2013 catalogue. Powering the proceedings will (apparently) be a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and Android Jelly Bean at the helm. The rear will be graced with a 13-megapixel camera (maybe an ultrapixel sensor?) while delivering the goods up from will be a 4.7-inch full 1080p HD touchscreen.
As far as projected release dates go, an event has been confirmed by the Taiwanese company for February 19th, which is expected to herald the debut of the M7 and the announcement of a full commercial launch a little later on March 8th.
