Mention the eventual fall release date for Grand Theft Auto 3 and it becomes quite painfully clear that time for all intents and purposes seems to be standing still…the fall feels like an eternity to wait.
Well, there may be some good news on the cards to at least keep us going in the meantime as word on the street is that GTA 5 might just be making a surprise appearance at PAX East 13. And while this is unlikely to mean anything in terms of advance release dates or early access to the title, there’s at least a pretty good chance we’ll get our deepest delve so far into Grand Theft Auto 5.
It’s all speculation at present, but it’s worth remembering that Rockstar Games is known for its recent affiliation with PAX East 2013. They’ve been on hand for the last couple of years at least with their latest titles and given the fact that GTA 5 is really the only focus of Rockstar for 2013, if they do make an appearance it is guaranteed to be in relation to the long-awaited fifth installment.
As far as what they’ll offer goes, it’s not exactly likely that Rockstar will be giving anyone a hands-on going over of the title, but it’s very plausible that they could have a couple of trailers lined up to really get the fires burning. On the other hand, it could be that they’re intent on using the platform to announce PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 versions of GTA 5, which are expected to follow the PS3 and Xbox 360 release date by a few months.
The fifth installment of the franchise is widely expected to break very video game sales record in the book.
