For millions of Americans spending much of 2012 praying for gas prices they can actually afford, Christmas has well and truly come early…at least in some part.
In the Fort Wayne area for example, average gas prices have fallen to a more-than agreeable $3 per gallon or thereabouts, with some stations offering even lower prices still. According to industry experts, the significant and ongoing fall in gas prices had been largely expected due to a sharp increase in supply volumes and the return to normal operations following the departure of Sandy.
The even better news is that there is no reason to expect any upticks at least between now and Christmas.
On the other hand, analysts are also just as confident in their predictions that gas prices will on average begin to climb once again when the New Year rolls around.
