While the world waits patiently for confirmation of the HTC M7 specs, features and ultimate release date, new images have leaked online granting us what could be our first genuine look and the fabled superphone.
The tidbit comes at the perfect time for HTC, as the Taiwanese Smartphone powerhouse continues to struggle in the face of growing competition.
The shot of the HTC M7 itself was uploaded and almost immediately taken down by a technology blog from China, though was of course online enough to be picked up by the beady eyes of Android Community. While the picture might not be what you’d call HD or particular revealing in terms of specs and features, it does however give a teasing glance at the unannounced HTC Sense 5.0.
So, what tell about the M7 itself? Well, if the picture proves on point – flip of a coin – the HTC M7 shares a good deal of similarities with the HTC 8X and will come with the black polycarbonate shell we’ve already heard dozens of rumors about. It’s also looking certain that the HTC M7 will launch with the same trio of capacitive buttons as became the trademark of the HTC One X and so on.
With regard to core specs, the HTC M7 is rumored to carry a 1080p 4.7-inch screen, behind which will sit a quad-core 1.7GHz processor, 2GB or RAM, 32GB of storage and a 13-megapixel camera. It’s pretty safe to say also that Android 4.2 Jelly Bean will run the proceedings, albeit with the HTC Sense 5 UI on top.
Definitely a contender for 2013 therefore, which is exactly what HTC needs right now to refloat its Smartphone operations. Recent months have seen profits at HTC fall to all-time lows and the downward trend shows no sign of abating anytime soon.
The company is however yet to confirm the M7 release date, its specs, features or even its existence.
