It’s looking like the BlackBerry Z10 launch could become yesterday’s new earlier than expected – rumor has it that a third BlackBerry 10 Smartphone has been slated for a 2013 release date. Not that we’d ever have though the campaign would begin and end with just the Z10 and Q10, but we didn’t think that at such an early stage Mr. Heins himself would talk of his excitement about the next BlackBerry 10 Smartphone.
Frankly, we’re still excited enough about the BlackBerry Z10 that just arrived in the US this week, not to mention the Q10 that remains AWOL the world over.
Nevertheless, while speaking to the good folks over at CNET this week, BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins said that he’s “very excited about” what will become the flagship BlackBerry 10 handset and take the OS to “another level in terms of the user experience.”
That was about as far as the details went however and Heins of course didn’t confirm any specs, features of release dates.
It’s almost unheard of for a Smartphone company to confirm that another flagship is already in the pipeline when by rights the current flagship hasn’t even taken its first crucial steps. Most had expected that the BlackBerry Z10 and QWERTY keyboard Q10 would eventually be followed by a more affordable mid-range device running the BB10 OS, but to shoulder past both with an even higher-end BlackBerry 10 flagship is a move that’s caught us all off-guard.
What we do know is that the mysterious BlackBerry 10 flagship will be with us before Christmas – a prime contender for some serious holiday sales.
After a couple of hugely successful months in the in the UK and Canada, the all-touchscreen BlackBerry Z10 saw its long-awaited launch in the US on Friday – the Q10 with QWERTY keyboard is expected to land in another couple of months.
