Google is racking up the reasons to celebrate as of late, with the LG Nexus 4 having proved the smash-hit of the holiday season in the Smartphone world and now their own-brand Nexus 7 is also skyrocketing in sales. According to new reports posted by Digitimes, the ASUS-built Google Nexus 7 is well on its way to a staggering 1 million sales for this month alone.
Best not to hold out for a $99 Nexus 7 release date anytime in the near future…
Sourced rooted deep within the supply chain have apparently revealed that the Android Jelly Bean toting Google Nexus 7 is once again on the rise, having previously hit around 800,000 units per month and now knocking on the door of 1 million. And with the busiest shopping week of the Christmas run-up about to begin, chances are Google will be celebrating a quite remarkable success story on which to end the year.
This could also prove a crucial time for the Google Nexus 7 to help the search engine giant nibble away at the global table market share currently dominated in no uncertain terms by Apple’s iPad.
Packing a quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and the latest and greatest version of Android to date, the Google Nexus 7 has proved to be the tablet PC bargain of the year by far and has only grown in popularity since its release date. Talk of an even more affordable $99 version of the Nexus 7 is still swirling around the ranks of the rumor mill, but given the astonishing success of the not-exactly-extortionate $199 Nexus 7, chances are Google won’t be in any hurry to rush forward a launch.
The Nexus 7 joins the LG Nexus 4 in the pioneering of a new generation of mobile devices where ‘bang for buck’ has been entirely redefined.
