Samsung Galaxy S4 release date rumors are becoming more tenacious by the day, as wish-lists and wild estimates as to the fabled phone’s specs and features grow. Should those claiming to be in the know actually know what they’re talking about, we can expect a quad-core beast with a 5-inch display and an all-new style to be released as early as next February.
The Samsung Galaxy S series of Smartphones have flown the flag for both Samsung and Android for years now, consistently breaking records left, right and center. Following in the footsteps of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the recently-released Note 2, the Galaxy S4 has a great deal to live up to to say the least.
With regard to specs and features, rumor has it that the Galaxy S4 has been earmarked for a 5-inch 1080p display, which would amount to a pixel density of 440ppi – the same as the new HTC Droid DNA. This would instantly give the S4 a massive advantage over pretty much every key rival on the market at the time, running circles around the iPhone 5’s Retina display.
It has also been suggested that Samsung’s investment in flexible screen technology could see the S4’s touchscreen somewhat wrapped-around the edges, or at least used to create a bezel-free overall design to keep the unit as small and compact as possible – another first for the industry.
Samsung hasn’t offered any word on the existence of the Galaxy S4 as of yet, though did confirm the company’s interest in flexible screen technology – as good as confirmation for most.
The all-important release date for the S4 is expected to follow the reveal which can be expected shortly after the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona – the event will likely be considered too big and prestigious NOT to demand its own private affair.
