Are we seeing the first undeniable precursor to the iPad Mini 2 release date?
Apple’s iPad has for the most part dominated the tablet PC market in terms of both demand and reverence ever since it was released. In fact, sales rarely seem to slow down even to catch breath and even with gaps between significant product launches seemingly on the grow, the iPad is still selling like the proverbial hot cakes.
As such, add all of the above together with the fact that some of Apple’s biggest retail partners have slashed iPad prices and there is but one conclusion – they’re starting to clear space ahead of a new iPad release date.
And as far as said iPad goes, it is of course the iPad Mini 2 and the iPad 5 that have the Cupertino collective the world over rather hot under the collar.
CNN Money and Tech broke the news by reporting that Best Buy, MacMall and Wal-Mart aren’t just penciling in the usual five-bucks off here and there, but are offering reductions as high as 30%. Or to put it another way, you can now pick up an iPad Mini or an iPad 3 for the lowest price either of the two has ever been on offer for, despite the fact that they’re still pulling in the punters left, right and center.
This year’s iPad Mini 2 launch is expected to bring the world a pretty impressive list of upgraded specs and features, with an eye-popping Retina display up to four-times the quality of the existing iPad Mini panel along with more power under the hood and perhaps more storage space.
As far as the iPad 5 goes, rumor has it that a complete overhaul is in store by way of a new form factor, smaller bezels, lightweight components and more power to boot.
The question is – does all of the above add up to a reason to hold out and not take home one of the tempting new iPad bargains?
