There just doesn’t seem to be any stopping the upward trajectory that Japanese auto manufacturer Mazda is currently on. The awards and critical acclaim just keep on coming and there are currently no signs that this trend will slow down.
Key to all this is the newest addition to the manufacturer’s line, the 2014 Mazda 6. The Skyactiv vehicle which is the latest addition to the Skyactiv range, has all the features associated with this pioneering new vehicle design program. The key word here is fuel efficiency and most importantly, without the sacrifice of performance. This design of the new Mazda 6 has already led to a number of prestigious awards and accolades, not least of which have come from respected website CarBuyer.co.uk including Best Large Family Car.
The most recent praise to be heaped on Mazda has come in the form of the very well respected and cross market design award the Red Dot Design Award. Taken very seriously, the Red Dot Design Award is bestowed only on the most forward thinking brands where design is concerned and previous winners have included iPhone and iPad manufacturer Apple and sports market giant Nike. There are a whole 9 areas in which the judging panel, comprised of thirty-seven field experts consider.
The Mazda manufacturer scooped the top award as a result of its design ethos and philosophy.
It’s quite rare for an automobile to succeed in both the design stakes and in what lies beneath and it seems the 2014 Mazda 6 is one of those rare creatures that ticks every box. The vehicle has been praised for its low emissions and excellent safety ratings and tests. It looks good, performs well, is fuel efficient and safe.
Really…what’s not to like?
The head designer at the Japanese firm made it clear in a recent statement that as well as making people look twice with the design, they also were aiming to make people want to get inside and have a drive.
It certainly seems with the new Mazda 6 as though they have succeeded and then some.
