We’re used to hearing dozens of rumors floating around regarding upcoming Apple products, but for the first time we’re looking at a situation where there are quite simply too many rumors surrounding too many products to make any real sense of.
Seriously, if they all end up panning out as we’re ‘reliably’ told they will, over the next few months we’ll be looking at:
- An iWatch
- An iPhone 5S
- An iPhone Mini
- An iPhone ‘Math’ (?)
- An iPhone 6
- An Apple TV Set
- An iPad Mini 2
- An iPad 5
- An iPod Touch Revamp
- A MacBook Evolution
…and tons more besides. Are we the only ones starting to think that something somewhere has got a little out of control?
Now, on the surface the above list seems to be a pretty compelling one and holds something that would probably appeal to everyone. However, what we’ve learned over the years is that having just one massive product launch to look forward to is always more exciting and indeed better for business than knowing about a dozen are coming at various intervals over the coming months.
Not that this will end up being the case at all – chances are you can rule out at least half of the above devices for 2013 in a heartbeat, the ain’t coming anytime soon. As for which, knock-off the Apple TV set until next year at the earliest, the same for the iPhone 6, the iPhone Mini and the iPhone Math permanently, the iWatch realistically speaking and anything of any real pith and merit as far as the MacBook is concerned.
Look at the facts with a little common sense and it should be clear that as far as 2013 goes, we’ll be looking at an iPhone 5S release date, the launch of the iPad Mini 2 and maybe…just maybe…the iPad 5, unless they keep back the latter until the spring.
Still, you can rest assured that the rumors will continue to flow forth as they always do – just don’t get too preoccupied with talk of an iToilet or iToaster which in all likelihood will kick off eventually.
